The National Trade Academy hosts The Arion Riding Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand, providing Horse riding lessons and Riding instruction.
Arion Riding Centre's Mission Statement To provide high quality tuition which enables a client to meet or exceed their expectations in respect to their level of Equine knowledge and Horse Riding Skills. Our goal is to provide a safe environment where students can achieve a solid practical foundation, leading to the development of higher skills in the equestrian discipline. Head Instructor/Stable Manager Elaine has an Honours Degree in Animal Science from London University. She is an NZQA qualified Grade 1 Riding Coach and has lectured and worked in the veterinary sector for many years. Elaine has completed the preliminary certificate of Horsemanship with Kelly Marks School of Equestrian Studies in England, has stud management experience, worked in racing stables and has a history of Dressage and Eventing competition. Elaine brings professionalism and a wealth of experience to Arion Riding Centre. Course conductSafety is our priority - all precautions will be taken however there is risk involved with riding. Weight - a weight restriction may apply. Qualifications - Clients will be able to work towards N.Z.Q.A or Pony Club qualifications. Horses - We have a range of specifically selected horses and ponies available or students can bring their own mount and train in a friendly, professional atmosphere, where, at their own speed they can learn the skills required to care for and ride a horse. CANCELATIONS - Please attempt to give us 24 hours notice if you are unable to ride. Leave a message, name and phone number on 0800 343 4901 if you are unable to reach us in person. No shows - This is when you don't notify us that you can't come. You will be charged the full lesson fee for a no show which must be paid before your next lesson. Bad weather - in the case of rain or strong winds, riding theory and stable practice lessons will continue inside. Bring a waterproof raincoat and wear warm clothing.
