National Trade Academy Certificate in Equine Skills (Level 3)

Entry Criteria
Students will meet the following entry requirements:
- have a real desire to work in the Equine industry
- possess sufficient English language skills
- are at least 18 years old (international students)
Previous equine experience is considered an important factor in allowing students entry to the course and NTA will actively seek evidence of this. Acceptable evidence may be in the form of:
International students:
- a written referee statement
- written employment history
- letter of endorsement from an organisation or business within the industry
No pre- and/or co-requisites are required other than the ability to meet the riding criteria for the NZ Pony Club "C Grade" Certificate.
National Trade Academy Certificate in New Zealand Farming Skills (Level 2)

Entry Criteria
Students will meet the following entry requirements:
- Have an agricultural background or an interest in agriculture in their own country (referee's report required)
either: hold an IELTS score of 4.5
or: pass an aptitude test within the first week of the course to satisfy the Academy that the student can successfully complete the course, if English is not the student's first language - Students will have English included in their course from an agriculture perspective to allow them to understand how New Zealand farmers communicate to their staff.
- An application fee of $1000.00 will be required to start the registration and enrolment process. This is either refunded (less 10%) if you do not continue with your application or deducted of your course fees if you start the course

Entry Criteria
Students will meet the following entry requirements:
- are self motivated
- Have a reasonable likelihood of success with the capability to achieve at level 3.
- Have completed the National Certificate in Agriculture level 2 or have the equivalent knowledge and skills.
- have a real desire to work in the Agriculture industry
- are at least 16 years old (domestic students) and have passed NCEA level 1.
International students:
- International students must conform to the requirements of the NTA Code of Practice for International students in respect to minimum age.
- Students must possess sufficient English language skills to pass the Certificate. This can be in the form of an IELTS score of 5 or TOEFEL equivalent or pass the Pre intermediate English test on the first week of the course.
Students that do not pass the test must first undertake additional English language training to meet the minimum level.
Previous agriculture experience is considered an important factor in allowing international students entry to the course and NTA will ask for the student to provide evidence of this. Acceptable evidence may be in the form of:

- a written referee statement or letter of endorsement from an organisation or business within the industry
