English + Horse Riding

At the National Trade Academy, we've been offering vocational training since 2000, and from 2004 we've offered courses to international students in the agricultural and equine fields.

As many of our international students do not speak English as their first language, we now provide English language courses for the benefit of current and future students.

English + Horse Riding

(4-week course)

Improve your English language skills and ride horses at our Equestrian Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand. You can learn or improve any of the following skills:

  • Cross-country Riding
  • Horse Care
  • Feeding
  • Dressage
  • Show Jumping
  • Cross Country Riding

Our qualified riding instructors can teach you the basics or improve your riding skills if you are already experienced. Any level of riding ability is accepted. We have a variety of different horses to suit beginners to advanced riders.

Study Schedule

Our 'English Plus' students receive a guaranteed number of hours of both English study and practical training, but the course schedules are necessarily flexible because the practical training component often depends on weather, equipment availability and the need to fit in with the schedules of other tutors (or of our hosts in the case of off-site visits).
